Highland Park to host art stroll

Event uses storefront spaces to showcase local, established artists

HIGHLAND PARK – The Art Stroll in Highland Park will take place from Feb. 12 to April 2.

The Art Center of Highland Park, 1957 Sheridan Road, is organizing the event and using storefront spaces to showcase local and established artists.

Susan Anne Russell, an established artist whose work can be found in collections internationally, will be displaying her swan paintings at a storefront at 464 Central Ave.

This year, the theme encompasses love. Valentine’s Day will occur a few days after the opening of the show.

“Swan in Flight,” a large-scale work, takes on elements of grace and motion. Swan Lake, a more intimate and smaller piece, was inspired by Tchaikovsky’s ballet.

The show is open to the public and will run through April 2.
