Vehicle parts theft reported

Oswego police were notified of the theft of $1,500 in motor vehicle parts at 8:58 p.m. Jan. 10 in the 2000 block of Farmington Lakes Drive.

Theft reported

Oswego police took a report concerning the theft of $150 at 4:26 p.m. Jan. 10 at a residence on Oxbow Avenue in the village.

DUI arrest on Route 30

Oswego police arrested Miguel A. Cielo Salinas, 29, of the 2700 block of Village Green Drive, Aurora, after stopping the vehicle he was driving at 12:07 a.m. Jan. 10 on Route 30 at Douglas Road. Police said Cielo Salinas was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for no proof of insurance, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding in excess of 26 mph over the posted limit and disobeying a red light. Police said Cielo Salinas later posted bond and was released pending a Feb. 28 court appearance.

Retail theft reported

Oswego police took a report of a retail theft at 5:16 p.m. Jan. 9 at a sporting goods store in the 2400 block of Route 34. Police said merchandise valued at over $500 was taken.

One hurt when vehicle hits light pole

A 19-year-old Yorkville resident was injured at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 8 when the vehicle he was driving went off the roadway on Washington Street at Route 71 and struck a light pole head-on, Oswego police reported. Police said the driver was transported to an area hospital.

Theft reported on Orchard Road

Oswego police took a report of a theft of property from a residence at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 3000 block of Orchard Road. Personal items worth $130 were taken, police said.

Check forgery reported

Oswego police are investigating a report of someone forging and cashing a check worth $3,876 from another individual’s bank account. The incident was reported to officers at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 7.

Semitruck damaged

Someone smashed the side window on a semitruck sometime Jan. 5 or 6 while it was parked in the 1600 block of Douglas Road in Oswego, village police said.

Warrant arrest

Oswego police arrested James J. Gomez, 23, of the 2400 block of Light Road, Oswego, at 4:45 p.m. Jan. 7 at the police station on a Kendall County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving while license suspended. Police said Gomez posted bond and was released pending a Feb. 7 court appearance.

Domestic battery arrest

Oswego police arrested Bryan J. Perez Santiago, 22, of the 500 block of Lincoln Station Drive, Oswego at 12:49 a.m. Jan. 9 on a charge of domestic battery. Police said the suspect was transported to the County Jail pending court proceedings.

Hit-and-run crash reported

Oswego police took a report of a hit-and-run crash at 3:48 p.m. Jan. 8 on Douglas Road at Wiesbrook Drive. No injuries were reported in the crash.

Aggravated speeding

Oswego police ticketed Jenrry N. Lopez, 22, of the 1100 block of Summit Avenue, Aurora, for aggravated speeding after stopping his vehicle at 7:31 p.m. Jan. 4 on Route 30 near Fifth Street. Police said Lopez was given a court date.

Oswego police ticketed Salvador De La Rosa, 43, of the 3500 block of Silver Fox Drive, Joliet, with aggravated speeding after stopping the vehicle he was driving at 4:49 a.m. Jan. 6 on Plainfield Road at Grove Road. Police said De La Rosa was given a court date.
