Theft reported

Oswego police took a report of a theft at 10:24 a.m. Jan. 2 in the 200 block of Cambridge Court. Police said the victim reported more than $500 had been taken.

Police investigating theft

Oswego police are investigating the theft of $32,000 as reported to police Dec. 30. Police said the incident involves fraudulent checks that were issued and then cashed.

Domestic battery

Oswego police are investigating a report of a domestic battery that officers were told occurred at 11:25 a.m. Dec. 31 in the 700 block of Oxbow Avenue.

Aggravated speeding

Oswego police ticketed Francis D. Szot, 21, of the 1200 block of Santa Fe Road, Romeoville, for aggravated speeding after stopping his vehicle at 8:59 p.m. Jan. 3 on Route 30 at Fifth Street. Police said Szot was released at the scene.
