Damage estimated at $5,000 in Boulder Hill garage fire

Cause of Sunday afternoon blaze remains under investigation.

The cause of a fire that damaged the attic of a detached garage in the Boulder Hill subdivision remains under investigation, according to the Oswego Fire Protection District.

In a statement, the fire district reported that firefighters responded to the blaze at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, in the 0-100 block of Marnel Road in the unincorporated subdivision.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the attic and had it under control in less than 15 minutes, according to the statement.

Damage to the garage was estimated at $5,000.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from the North Aurora and Sugar Grove fire protection districts provided on-scene assistance to Oswego firefighters, while Plainfield Fire Protection District provided station coverage for Oswego during the blaze, according to the statement.
