Three injured, one cited in crash on Route 71 in Newark

Three people were injured in a two vehicle crash at 7:55 a.m. June 16 on Route 71 at Union Street in Newark, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

In a press statement, the sheriff’s office said the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, Mustafa Begovac, 76, of the 0-99 block of College Street, Sandwich, was transported to Northwestern Valley West Hospital in Sandwich for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash, a 42 year-old woman from Shorewood, and a juvenile passenger were transported to Morris Hospital in Morris for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies ticketed Begovac for failure to yield at an intersection and driving without insurance, the sheriff’s office reported.
