One injured, driver ticketed in Yorkville crash

A passenger was transported to an area hospital following a collision between two vehicles over the weekend in Yorkville.

Yorkville police cited Payton M. Bank, 20, of the 100 block of Royal Oaks Drive, Bristol, for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, after responding to a traffic accident at 3:26 p.m., July 17, in the area of North Bridge Street and East Kennedy Road.

Police reported that a vehicle, driven by Bank, and a second vehicle were stopped at an intersection. The second vehicle began to enter the intersection, but abruptly stopped. Bank’s vehicle reportedly failed to stop, striking the rear bumper of the second vehicle.

Both vehicles received minor damage. A passenger in the second vehicle was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
