High school sports roundup for Friday, Jan. 21: Mason Accidentale’s 25 points pace Plano past Sandwich


Plano 68, Sandwich 55

Mason Accidentale scored 25 points, hit five 3-pointers and dished out five assists, Kameron Williams added 14 points and Josh Padilla 11 for the visiting Reapers (11-7, 4-3), who swept the season series with the Indians. Evan Gottlieb scored 15 points and Dylan Young 13 for Sandwich.

Oswego East 70, Plainfield South 44

DeVon Oregon scored 15 points, Patrick Robinson 13 and Mekhi Lowery and Mason Blanco eight each for the Wolves (21-1, 10-0).

Yorkville Christian 94, Urban Prep West 20

Jaden Schutt scored 23 points and KJ Vasser 22 for the Mustangs.

Joliet West 69, Yorkville 54

Justin Jakstys scored 16 points, LeBaron Lee 14 and John Swarn 10 for the Foxes (8-13, 2-8).


Sandwich 40, Plano 19

Claire Allen’s nine points and eight rebounds led Sandwich past Plano to sweep the season series. Alex Bishop scored eight points and Josie Larson seven for Plano.

Newark 57, Earlville 30

Kellie Snyder had 11 points, 15 rebounds and four steals, Lindsey Hatteberg 10 points and seven assists and Gwyneth O’Connell eight points for the Norsemen (11-6), who defeated Earlville for third place in the Little Ten Conference tournament at Serena.

Joliet West 56, Yorkville 34

The Foxes led 11-9 after the first quarter but came up short against Joliet West. Alex Stewart led Yorkville (6-16, 3-6) with 12 points. “Unfortunately the shots weren’t falling the rest of the game but the Foxes never quit,” Foxes coach Kim Wensits said.
