Former Oswego East star Ray J Dennis signs two-way deal with NBA’s Indiana Pacers

Former Oswego East basketball star Ray J Dennis on Wednesday signed a two-way deal with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers.

Dennis, a two-time Record Newspapers Player of the Year who played collegiately at Boise State, Toledo and Baylor, went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. He briefly was on a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards, but was waived prior to the beginning of the regular season.

Dennis has spent this season in the G League playing with the San Diego Clippers. In 16 games Dennis has averaged of 16.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.3 steals. He has shot 46.1% from the field, 34.6% from beyond the arc, and 81.0% from the free-throw line.

Dennis was named MAC Player of the Year at Toledo during the 2022-2023 season and was on the All-Big 12 team at Baylor last season.

At Oswego East he led the Wolves to a sectional final his senior season.
