St. Charles North junior Sam Hill, who won the DuKane Conference boys cross country 3-mile race in 14:57.6 and led the North Stars to the team title, is the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week.

Sam Arville scored two goals as St. Charles East soccer won its regional semifinal on Wednesday.

Host and top-seeded Marmion had six different goal scorers to get an 8-0 win over No. 8 Plano, while fourth-seeded Aurora Central Catholic used two early goals to secure a 3-0 victory over sixth-seeded Dixon in a pair of Class 2A regional semifinal games.
