Several people have been transported to area hospitals following a crash Saturday near Hampshire.

Kane County Sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of the crash, which involved a semi-truck and a minivan on Route 72 near Walker Road west of Hampshire, according to an email from Undersheriff Pat Gengler.

An adult with serious injuries was flown from the scene in a medical helicopter to a Rockford hospital, Gengler said. Route 72 remains closed as deputies investigate the crash.

Additional details will not be available tonight, he said.
