Photos: Mendota soccer is off to State after defeating Aurora Central Catholic

The Mendota soccer team punched their ticket to the State finals after shutting out Aurora Central Catholic 2-0 in the Class 1A Supersectional game on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024 at Mendota High School. The Trojans will face Normal U-High in the State semifinals on Thursday at 7:15p.m. at Hoffman Estates High School.

Jovani Ruiz starts scoring flurry as Kaneland tops Sycamore

Jovani Ruiz was hoping to cross the ball from the outside to a teammate. Instead, the ball deflected off the hands of Sycamore goalie Ryan Guzinksi and into the net, the first of two quick goals for the Knights in a 2-1 victory over the Spartans.
