Geneva city flags have been lowered to half staff in memory of former mayor Tom Coughlin.

Coughlin was mayor from 1997 to 2001, and previously served as alderperson in the 1980s, according to a notice from the city.

The family will hold a private ceremony to celebrate Coughlin’s life. In the notice, city staff expressed their condolences to the Coughlin family for their loss.
