Rockridge held on against Bureau Valley in first-round play of the Class 2A Sherrard regional volleyball tournament Monday night, defeating the Storm 25-23, 25-21.

Seniors Emma Stabler had 17 kills along with six digs while Kate Salisbury totaled 21 assists in their final match for the Storm (14-17).

Other leaders for the Storm were Taylor Neuhalfen (9 points, 1 block, 7 digs), McKinley Canady (3 kills, 2 digs), Mattie Michlig (2 kills, 8 points, 2 aces, 2 digs) and Kate Stoller (9 digs).

The Rockets advance to face top-seeded Orion (30-3) in Tuesday’s semifinals.

At Chillicothe: Hall lost for the third time this season to NCIC rival Kewanee in first-round play of the Class 2A IVC Regional, falling 25-16, 25-19.

Kewanee will face the host Grey Ghosts (22-10) Tuesday at 6 p.m. followed by Princeton vs. El Paso-Gridley.
