CHARLIE PUTH ‘VOICENOTES’
Released: May 11
Label: Atlantic Records
The second studio album from 26-year-old Charlie Puth, “Voicenotes,” peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart when it was released last week, and for this album, the proof of that top-five ranking is in the pudding.
Growing up and admiring other artists such as John Mayer and Baby Face, Puth created a style where each song is an instant hit. A lot of tracks have an uptempo beat alongside Puth’s sometimes falsetto, crooning voice.
Whether it’s the pop-rock single “Attention” that claims your undivided from the moment it comes on the radio with an ‘80s funk feel or the more straight pop hit “Done for Me” featuring R&B artist Kehlani, this album creates callbacks within its tracks and is an instant winner.
KEY HITS: “How Long,” “Done for Me”
