Free coffee for seniors as they learn about volunteer opportunities

SYCAMORE – Residents age 55 and older can receive free coffee through Lifescape AmeriCorps Seniors at Sycamore Café.

Seniors can enjoy a cup of coffee and learn about volunteer opportunities from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Sycamore Café, 1170 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore.

There will be a free bonus gift for anyone who registers to become a volunteer the day of the event.

Lifescape’s AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer program pairs people with volunteer opportunities in their area. Volunteers can use the skills and talents they have learned over the years or develop new ones while serving in a variety of volunteer activities within the community. Some of volunteer sites include: DeKalb County Forest Preserve District, DeKalb County History Center, Elder Care Services, Goodwill, Heartland Hospice, Northern Illinois Food Bank, Family Service Agency, The Salvation Army and Voluntary Action Center.
