SYCAMORE - A yearslong pursuit to reopen tattoo parlor Spider Tattooz 2, formerly owned by a late Sycamore alderman, will take place during an open house Saturday at the business’ new location.
The open house will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the parlor’s new location, 325 E. State St., according to a social media post on the business’ Facebook page.

The tattoo parlor and body shop was formerly owned by late Sycamore Ward 4 Alderman Rick “Spider” Kramer who died in November 2020 after a battle with throat cancer. Brian Fleetwood, Kramer’s former colleague, assumed operates of the business while Kramer underwent treatment and now owns and operates the parlor himself.
It’s been a two-year journey for Fleetwood to reopen the space, after a September 2020 fire caused $500,000 worth of damage to the old building in the 100 block of East State Street, which also formerly housed State Street Laundry and World Famous Pizza. The building was later demolished in 2021.

Fleetwood secured Sycamore City Council approval for the new space for Spider Tattooz 2, after in January.
According to the social media post, the parlor will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Those interested can also set up an appointment and place a deposit during the open house Saturday.
