2021 Daily Chronicle Girls Cross Country All-Area Team

Lily Baker, Sycamore, sr.

First team

Alli Gonnella, Kaneland, jr. – The state qualifier was second at the Rock River Run in Sterling, eighth in her regional, 18th at sectionals and she finished 76th at state. Her top time was 19:00.

Annika Burchell, DeKalb, sr. – Burchell was named the team’s most valuable runner for the third straight year, finishing with a top time of 19:23 this season.

Caroline Bend, Indian Creek, jr. – Bend set her best 2.85-mile time at her regional, finishing in 17:33 to take fourth place. She came in 12th at the sectional and 51st at state.

Lindsey Andrae, Kaneland, jr. – Andrae took sixth in the conference, and finished 11th at the regional and 24th at her sectional. She had a personal best time of 19:42 this season.

Rose Dallal, Kaneland, jr. – Another state qualifier for the Knights, Dallal finished eighth in the conference, 12th at regional and took 27th at sectionals. She had a PR of 19:45 this season.

Korima Gonzalez, DeKalb, so. – The transfer from East Aurora had a best time of 19:46 this season.

Katie Jerbi, Genoa-Kingston, sr. – A sectional qualifier, Jerbi was the team MVP and an all-conference selection in the Big Northern Conference. She averaged a time of 20:50 on 5,000-meter courses and 19:30 on 2.85-mile courses
