Brucker, Princeton blast Kewanee

The Princeton Tigers scored eight runs in the first inning and never slowed down en route to a four-inning 19-0 victory in four innings over the Boilermakers in TRAC East play Friday in Kewanee.

Ryan Brucker had a big day at the plate for the Tigers with two hits, including a home run and seven RBIs.

The Tigers collected 16 hits, including three each for Jacob Burns (5 RBIs) and Matt Lucas (2 RBIs) and two each for Bennett Sierens, Jamie Reinhardt (2 RBIs) and Drew Woolley (2 RBIs).

Sierens pitched three innings for the win and Burns finished off the shutout in relief.

SOFTBALL

St. Bede 10, Hall 0: St. Bede scored in every inning to defeat the rival Devils in five innings Friday in Three Rivers East play in Spring Valley. Ryann Stoudt and Caroline Moskalewicz had two hits and RBI and Atti Bontz had a hit and two RBIs to lead the St. Bede offense.

Payge Pyszka scattered four innings with five strikeouts for the win.

Fulton 11, Bureau Valley 1: Liz Fish pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and led the Steamers at the plate with a 4-4 day and eight RBIs Friday.

Princeton 8, Kewanee 4: The Tigresses pushed five runs across in the top of the sixth to defeat the Boiler Girls Friday in Kewanee for the second straight night.

Taylor Wetsel (2 RBIs) and Isa Ibarra (RBI) each had three hits for PHS and Katie Bates (2 RBIs), Olivia Alter (2 RBIs) and Libby Boyles (RBI) each added two hits.

Bates scattered nine hits and two walks while mixing in six strikeouts for the win.
