Christmas services in the Illinois Valley

A schedule of Christmas services planned in La Salle, Bureau and Putnam counties.

Arlington, Cherry, Dalzell

Christmas Eve Mass at Holy Trinity, 212 S. Main St., Cherry, is set for 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24.

Christmas Eve Mass at St. Patric, 106 Church St., Arlington, is set for 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, with a Christmas choir at 9:30 p.m.

Christmas morning Mass is scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, at St. Thomas More, 302 Chestnut St., in Dalzell.

Granville

United Church of Christ, 103 Church St., in Granville extended an invitation to all who would like to celebrate Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. A service celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is scheduled at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Organ music by Shirley Smythe will be played at both services and soloist Adrianna Ladage at the 11 p.m. service. One of the services will also be streamed on Facebook to view at your convenience.

La Salle

Mass times for the La Salle Catholic Parishes are: 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, at St. Patrick Church, 725 Fourth St.; 4 and 7 p.m. in Spanish at St. Hyacinth Church, 927 10th St.; midnight in the Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine, 529 Fourth St.

They are set 7 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, at St. Patrick; 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, at St. Hyacinth, and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, at St. Patrick. There will be no Saturday vigil Masses for the Feast of the Holy Family (Sunday, Dec. 26).

Oglesby

Holy Family Church, 311 N. Woodland Ave., Oglesby will host Christmas Eve Masses at 4 and 10 p.m. Friday, Dec 24. Christmas Day Mass will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec 25.

Oglesby Union Church, 100 E. Walnut St., will host a Christmas Eve candlelight service 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24.

Peru

Peru Catholic Parishes will host Christmas Eve Masses 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24 in St. Valentine Church, 1109 Pulaski St.; 4:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Church, 1925 Fifth St.; and 5:30 and 9 p.m. in St. Mary Church, 1319 Sixth St.

Christmas Day Masses will be midnight in St. Valentine and St. Joseph; 7 a.m. in St. Joseph; 8 a.m. in St. Valentine and 9 a.m. in St. Mary.

Zion United Church of Christ, 1521 Sixth St., will host a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24.

Spring Valley

Parish of the Nativity of Our Lord, 510 Richard A. Mautino Drive, in Spring Valley, will host Christmas Eve Masses 5:30 and 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. Christmas Day Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25.

United Church of Christ, 227 E. Erie St., will host a candlelight service at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24.

Tiskilwa

The Tiskilwa Bible Church, 235 W. Main St., Tiskilwa, will have a candlelight service at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. All are welcome.

Triumph

Triumph United Methodist Church will host a traditional candlelight Christmas Eve service at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged. A collection will be taken for the Mendota Christian Food Pantry.

Utica

Mass times for St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 303 Division St., in Utica are 4 and 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24; and 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25.
