2021 BCR Boys Cross Country Team

Ian Eller, Amboy-LaMoille-Ohio (Sr.)

Eller placed third at the Kewanee and Rock Falls invitationals and finished top 10 in the Princeton, Amboy and Seneca invitationals. In the postseason, he had individual success while also helping the Clippers to a team state berth. He placed fourth in the Class 1A St. Bede Regional, ninth at the Oregon Sectional and 90th at state.

Elijah House, Bureau Valley (Jr.)

The Storm’s leader took it to the House season long, placing top five at the Kewanee and Erie-Prophetstown invitationals and top 10 at the Princeton and Elmwood invitationals. He was also eighth at the Three Rivers Conference Meet to earn all-conference honors. He came on strong in the postseason, placing fifth at the Class 1A St. Bede Regional and 25th at the Oregon Sectional to qualify for state for the first time, placing 156th.

Miguel Jones, St. Bede (Sr.)

Jones had a steady senior season for the Bruins, leading the team early on at the Princeton Invite (22nd) as well as the Three Rivers Conference Meet (18th). He finished out his career placing 37th in the Bruins’ own regional.

Brock Loftus, Amboy-LaMoille-Ohio (Sr.)

The BCR Runner of the Year was near the top of every race he ran this season. The Ohio senior won the Princeton and Kewanee invitationals and was top five in six other meets, including the Amboy and Bureau Valley invitationals. Loftus was the Class 1A St. Bede Regional and the Oregon Sectional champion, helping the Clippers to a team state berth. He had the best state-placing in program history, placing 26th.

Kyler McNinch, Amboy-LaMoille-Ohio (Jr.)

McNinch played a key role in helping the Clippers advance to state as a team for the first time. He was runner-up at the Class 1A St. Bede Regional and placed seventh at the Oregon Sectional. McNinch ran a personal best 16:24 to finish 82nd at state. He was top 10 at the Amboy, Erie-Prophetstown and Rock Falls invitationals.

Ben Roth, Bureau Valley (Jr.)

A solid No. 2 runner for the Storm all season, Roth was the third top finisher from Bureau County at the St. Bede Regional, placing 20th, as well as the Oregon Sectional, placing 78th. He finished 25th at conference (19:00).

Christian Yepsen, Princeton (Jr.)

The Tigers’ No. 1 man had a very consistent season and showed good improvement. His best races time-wise were at Rock River (18:23) and Sterling (18:26). He placed 22nd at conference and 28th at regional, an improvement of 33 spots, just missing out on qualifying for sectional by one position.
