Volleyball: Princeton earns No. 1 seed in sub-sectional

The Princeton Tigresses will carry the No. 1 seed sub-sectional into the volleyball postseason.

The Tigresses (27-5-2) will be the team to beat in the Bureau Valley Regional, awaiting the Monday, Oct. 25, winner between No. 6 Hall and No. 9 Farmington match on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 5:30 p.m.

Host Bureau Valley (9-14) drew the No. 5 seed and a quarterfinal match vs. No. 11 Midwest Central at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25. Their winner will face No. 4 Knoxville at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.

The regional finals will be Thursday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. The regional champion will advance to the Knoxville Sectional on Monday, Nov. 1, to face the winner of the Sherrard Regional (Macomb is No. 2 seed, Sherrard is No. 3 seed) at 6:30 p.m.

Class 1A

At Henry: St. Bede (8-15) drew the No. 10 seed in the Serena Sub-Sectional A and a first-round match vs. No. 4 Ottawa Marquette at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 in the Henry Regional. Their match will be followed by No. 5 Henry vs. No. 9 Putnam County.

Yorkville Christian is the No. 1 seed.

Putnam County will host a 1A super-sectional on Friday, Nov. 5.

At Ashton: No. 4 Annawan, No. 11 LaMoille and No. 12 DePue were all sent to the Ashton-Franklin Center regional. LaMoille has a play-in match vs. host and No. 10 AFC at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25. On Tuesday, Oct. 26, the Bravettes will face No. 14 Amboy-Ohio at 5:30 p.m. followed by DePue vs. No. 6 Polo.
