Bears starting quarterback Justin Fields was once again listed as limited in the team’s injury report Thursday. Fields has been limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday by an ankle injury.
The rookie quarterback missed Sunday’s win over Seattle due to the injury, which he sustained Dec. 20 against the Minnesota Vikings.
Bears head coach Matt Nagy was not available to comment on Fields’ status Thursday.
Meanwhile, veteran backup Andy Dalton (groin) was a full participant for the second day in a row. Dalton also missed Sunday’s win over Seattle due to his injury. Veteran third-string QB Nick Foles led the Bears to a 25-24 victory. With Dalton fully participating in practice, it’s unclear whether Foles or Dalton might start if Fields is unavailable for this week’s game against the New York Giants at Soldier Field.
Veteran left tackle Jason Peters (ankle) remained limited in practice Thursday. Defensive back Duke Shelley (heel) was a full participant Thursday after sitting out Wednesday.
Receiver Marquise Goodwin (illness) and tight end J.P. Holtz (personal reasons) did not practice Thursday.
