CHICAGO – Bears outside linebacker Robert Quinn is heading back to the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2014. Bears return specialist Jakeem Grant will join him for the NFL’s all-star game in Las Vegas on Feb. 6.
Entering Week 15, Quinn had 14 sacks, tied for third in the NFL. He leads the Bears in that category and is 3.5 sacks shy of Richard Dent’s team record of 17.5 set in 1984.
Quinn is now a three-time Pro Bowler. He made the NFC Pro Bowl team in 2013 and 2014 as a member of the St. Louis Rams. He totaled a career high 19 sacks in 2013.
Grant shined last week in a loss to the Green Bay Packers. He returned a 97-yard punt return touchdown and caught another 46-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Justin Fields. This is Grant’s first Pro Bowl.
It appears that Bears inside linebacker Roquan Smith did not make the Pro Bowl. Smith has 130 combined tackles, three sacks, one interception and three passes defended. Smith has never made the Pro Bowl, despite being a second-team All-Pro in 2020.
The NFL will reveal the full Pro Bowl teams on Wednesday, but has announced several selections ahead of time.
