With the Super Bowl over and Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence already showcasing his skills Friday, it’s officially draft season.
We took a look through mock drafts from across the media landscape so that Bears fans don’t have to. An offensive lineman still feels like a distinct possibility – six of the 10 mocks listed here have the Bears taking a lineman at No. 20.
That’s not to say there aren’t a few surprises on the list, though. Here’s a roundup of the latest mock drafts:
ESPN’s Todd McShay: Mac Jones, QB, Alabama (trade up to 12th)
Writes McShay (Feb. 9): “If there is a run on quarterbacks, and Wentz goes to Indianapolis or elsewhere, then the Bears have to do what they have to do here.”
ESPN’s Mel Kiper: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
Writes ESPN’s Mel Kiper (Feb. 7): “In Chicago, he could start immediately on the right side, where Germain Ifedi is a free agent, and be the long-term replacement to Charles Leno at left tackle.”
The Athletic: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
Writes The Athletic’s Dane Brugler (Feb. 11): “Regardless of what the Bears do at quarterback, the results will be similar to the past few seasons unless they make upgrades on the offensive line.”
Yahoo Sports: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
Writes Yahoo Sports’ Eric Edholm (Feb. 9): “Jenkins’ lumberjack toughness and decent flexibility would be a nice addition up front.”
NBC Sports: Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan
Writes NBC Sports’ Glynn Morgan (Feb. 10): “Already an imposing, athletically gifted lineman, Mayfield’s upside is tremendous and projects as a ten year starter with pro-bowl potential.”
FOX Sports: Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama
Writes FOX Sports’ Jason McIntyre (Feb. 12): “New defensive coordinator Sean Desai is a Vic Fangio disciple, and expect him to be pounding the table for a run stopper as the talented Akiem Hicks approaches 32 years old and his play has declined the last two seasons.”
CBS Sports: Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
Writes CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards (Feb. 11): “Chicago could look for an edge rusher or offensive lineman but opt to pair Trevon Moehrig with Eddie Jackson.”
Sports Illustrated: Alijah Vera-Tucker, OT/OG, USC
Writes SI.com’s Alex Gilstrap (Feb. 7): “Alijah Vera-Tucker is a good football player. He can come in and fill a need they have at offensive tackle or inside where he has played most of his collegiate career.”
Sporting News: Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama
Writes Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer (Feb. 12): “Barmore combines strength and power with great technique. His late-season surge makes him worthy of a back-half first-rounder.”
Pro Football Focus: Dillon Radunz, OT, North Dakota State
Writes PFF’s Michael Renner (Feb. 8): “Radunz proved he belonged in this conversation after coming away as the highest-graded lineman of Senior Bowl week. He’s an explosive tackle who could start his career at guard if need be.”
