Robin R. Linville, 47, of 514 Hobart St., Eau Claire, Wis., was charged with driving while license suspended at 1:52 a.m. Wednesday at May Road and Route 251, according to Peru police.
Melissa Actis, 32, of 1920 E. 930th Road, Magnolia was charged with driving too fast for conditions following a two-vehicle crash at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday at Dakota and Hennessey streets, according to Spring Valley police. Actis was westbound on Dakota Street when she struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Zenon J. Ruiz of 210 W. Dakota St., Spring Valley, according to Spring Valley police. There were no injuries.
Tyler A. Becker, 24, of 275 Brookside Drive, Paw Paw was picked up at 12:05 p.m. Saturday on a La Salle County failure-to-appear warrant for a charge of domestic battery, Lee County Sheriff’s department said.
A parolee, Robert L. Sims, 46, of Marseilles was in La Salle County Jail this week with bond set at $1 million after an investigation began more than a month ago.
Sims is charged with one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class 1 felony (punishable by 4-15 years), following his arrest on the an Ottawa warrant June 24 in Grundy County, according to Ottawa police. On May 16, Ottawa police responded to a traffic accident near West Lafayette and Polk streets, and learned that a man, identified as Sims, had left the scene on foot, police said. An Ottawa detective stopped Sims in the 1200 block of West Madison Street soon after and found him in possession of more than 1 gram but less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine, according to police. Detectives referred their case to the La Salle County State’s Attorney’s Office for charges after Sims was transported to OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa, police said. At the time of the arrest, he complained of chest pain, police said.
They released him to the hospital and then pursued the warrant; soon after release from the hospital, Sims left town, a detective said. Detectives obtained the arrest warrant June 5 for Sims.
