Andrews & Co. Realty in New Lenox hosting toy drive, partnering for motorcycle run

Andrews & Co Realty is a donation spot in New Lenox for Toys for Tots.

Because of COVID restrictions, toy supply is down 50% to 60%, even with a likely increase of children that need Toys for Tots' services, according to a press release from Andrews & Co. Realty.

The realty group is hosting a toy drive from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 13 for people to drop off new and unwrapped toys, but not electronics or stuffed animals. The stuffed animals cannot be disinfected.

The toys will go to children ages 15 and younger.

The toy drive will also have a no contact Santa image for children to take photos, with more things to hopefully be added as the date gets closer and guidelines change.

Andrews & Co. Realty partnered with Cardinal Financial, PEAK Construction and Remodeling, Midwest Wheelz and Graphic Pro.

"We're lucky to still be in business and be able to do this," Debbie Andrews, owner, said.

Through its partnership with Midwest Wheelz, it is hosting a motorcycle run called Trinkets for Kids.

The annual run in Chicago was canceled this year because of COVID. That run has gone on for 43 years and has approximately 70,000 motorcycles.

The ride is this Sunday and starts at Midwest Wheelz, 204 N. Cedar Road, and kick stands go up at 9 a.m.

The run will stop at Fritz's in Manhattan, Country Place in Peotone, Jameson's Pub in Frankfort, Tavern in the Glen in Homer Glen, Stagecoach Saloon in Lockport and finish at JBD White Horse Inn in New Lenox.

Those participating must bring one new or unwrapped toy to ride.
