Local artist painted San Damiano cross for Joliet church

On Nov. 29, the Solemnity of all Franciscan saints and the first Sunday of Advent, Bishop Ronald Hicks lead the Franciscan friars and the parish family with solemn vespers and blessed the new San Damiano cross that was painted by Dottie Mueller of Dottie's Art Studio & School in Plainfield

The Franciscan cross depicts significant characters from the Joliet area.
