The Whiteside County Health Department announced four COVID-related deaths on Friday, involving two people in their 50s and two in their 80s.
There were three more deaths in Ogle County, involving people in their 70s, 80s and 90s.
Whiteside County also had 86 new cases, involving 19 people younger than 20, 12 in their 20s, 13 in their 30s, 17 in their 40s, 11 in their 50s, six in their 60s, three in their 70s and five older than 80.
Whiteside County also had 18 recoveries.
Lee County had 22 new cases and 30 recoveries Friday. One new case is from Franklin Grove Living & Rehab. The new cases involved a child younger than 12, one teen, four people in their 20s, three each in in their 30s, 40s and 50s, four in their 60s and two in their 70s. There are 17 people in Lee County currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
Ogle County reported 52 new cases Friday.
Carroll County logged 26 new cases involving two children, five teens, one person in his or her 20s, three in their 30s, one in his or her 40s, seven in their 50s, three in their 60s and four in their 70s.
Whiteside County has had 3,491 cases and 67 deaths. Lee County has had 1,486 cases, 906 recoveries and six deaths. Ogle County has had 2,456 cases, 1,836 recoveries and 24 deaths. Carroll County has had 956 cases , 797 recoveries and 23 deaths.
The North region (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties) has seen 5 days of positivity increases and 6 days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate decreased to 19%. Currently, 29% of medical/surgical beds are available and 30% of ICU beds.
Within this region, DeKalb County's positivity rate remained flat at 14.8%, Lee County's rate decreased to 16%, and Whiteside County's rate dropped to 22.8%.
The Illinois Department of Public Health on Friday announced 13,012 cases and 126 deaths. Illinois has had 634,395 cases and 11,304 deaths.
Sterling has had 10,163 tests and 1,280 cases. Rock Falls has had 5,051 tests and 762 cases. Dixon has had 11,243 tests and 1,026 cases. Rochelle has had 6,115 tests and 878 cases.
