DuPage County reports 628 COVID-19 cases Friday, 7 deaths

The DuPage County Health Department on Friday reported 628 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 7 deaths: 2 men in their 60s, 2 women in their 70s, 1 woman in her 80s, 1 male in his 80s and 1 woman in her 90s.

The county now has seen a total of 26,890 coronavirus cases including 629 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of October 27 was 96.4%.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen nine days of positivity increases and nine days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate increased from 12.2% to 12.7%. Currently, 23% of medical/surgical beds and 37% of ICU beds are available.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported a single-day state record 10,376 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 49 additional deaths Friday.

By town, Wheaton has had 1,238 total cases, Glen Ellyn 984, Lombard 1,335, Villa Park 812, Hinsdale 458, Westmont 767, Darien 494, Woodridge 856, Downers Grove 1,135, Elmhurst 1,364, Warrenville 406 and Winfield 285. Addison has had 1,900 confirmed cases, Naperville 2,102, Carol Stream 1,427 and West Chicago 1,670.
