Incumbents won re-election in two countywide positions in DuPage County, with the race for the DuPage Clerk of the Court the tightest contest of the evening.
Candice Adams, a Democrat from Lisle and attorney, defeated three-term clerk Chris Kachiroubas, an Elmhurst Republican who had served since 2004, by 791 votes.
With 100% of precincts reporting, Adams captured 215,843 votes, or 50.09%, to Kachiroubas' 215,052 votes, or 49.91% of the vote.
Downers Grove resident Bob Grogan won his fourth term as county auditor, defeating William White, a former Downers Grove commissioner and member of the Community High School District 99 board.
With 100% of precincts reporting, Grogan had received 217,981 votes, or 50.46%. while White received 213,983 votes, or 49.54%.
In the race for DuPage County coroner, Wheaton Republican and physician Richard Jorgensen won his third term, beating Gregory Whalen, a Democrat from Clarenson Hills and lieutenant with the Glencoe Department of Public Safety.
With 100% of precincts reporting, Jorgensen had captured 219,699 votes, or 51.28%. Whalen received 208,757 for 48.72% of the vote.
Carol Stream Democrat Kathleen Carrier, who lost a close race to Amy Grant in 2018 for the 42nd House District, beat Wheaton Republican Babette Youngberg to be elected DuPage County recorder.
With 100% of precincts reporting, Carrier had received 220,630 votes, or 51.83%. Youngberg won 205,070, or 48.17% of the vote.
