Ottawa’s downtown will have free Wi-Fi in time for the Chris Kringle Market.

An agreement with Surf Broadband Solutions was approved during a Wednesday morning special council meeting. The agreement will cost the city $250 monthly.

Construction of the infrastructure required for the project is expected to be completed by Nov. 30.

The Wi-Fi will cover an area stretching from the Jordan block to Lafayette Street.

The Chris Kringle Market takes place the weekends of Dec. 4-6 and Dec. 11-13 along Jackson Street on the south end of Washington Square.
