THOMSON – The Federal Bureau of Prisons is holding a job fair at Thomson Prison starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Applicants need to bring a resume and two forms of identification. Veterans should bring their DD-214 and a VA disability certificate.
The National Council of Prison Locals 33 raised the alarm about staffing levels at Thomson in August. Thomson, which currently houses 1,341 inmates, had slightly over 200 officers in August, far short of the 365 it was authorized to have by BOP.
The BOP said that the starting salary ranges from $43,065 per year to $61,987 per year, and a group retention incentive of 10% will be calculated on the rate of pay before any deductions.
