McHenry County reports 25 new COVID-19 cases

The McHenry County Department of Health reported 25 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths Wednesday.

This brings countywide totals to 4,648 confirmed cases, 118 related deaths and four probable deaths as of Wednesday evening. The county's recovery rate currently sits at 97%.

McHenry County residents have been tested a total of 77,602 times since the pandemic began, according to county-specific data collected by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Kane County had a total of 13,285 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 326 deaths, according to the IDPH as of Wednesday.

The Lake County Health Department reported a total of 17,171 confirmed cases and 473 related deaths.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported a total of 293,274 confirmed cases and 8,672 related deaths. So far, Illinois has conducted a total of 5,624,822 COVID-19 tests. The statewide recovery rate is 96%.

Among McHenry County ZIP codes, Crystal Lake (60014) had the highest number of COVID-19 cases with a total of 705 confirmed cases, according to county data. Woodstock (60098) follows with 685 cases.

The McHenry County health department reports only ZIP code data that is located within McHenry County, a department spokeswoman said. Any discrepancies between county and Illinois Department of Public Health numbers likely are because of the data's provisional nature and because each health department finalizes its data at different times, she said.
