Knife-wielding man caused disturbance at New Lenox Bulldog Ale House: cops

A man faces misdemeanor charges after he refused to pay for his beer at New Lenox Bulldog Ale House and asked an employee if he wanted to fight while brandishing a knife, police said.

At 9:11 p.m. on Aug. 16, officers were sent to Bulldog Ale House at 2387 E. Joliet Highway after receiving a report of a disturbance involving a person with a knife, said New Lenox Deputy Police Chief Alessandrini.

An employee said the offender walked away from the business with a knife in his hand, Alessandrini said.

The officers learned a topless Aaron Foster, 30, of the 1100 block of Runyan Drive in Lockport entered Bulldog Ale House, Alessandrini said. Foster was asked to leave and told to return after he had put on a shirt, he said.

Foster returned a short time later wearing a shirt and ordered a beer, Alessandrini said. Foster drank the beer but refused to pay for it, he said.

Foster then was escorted out, Alessandrini said.

“As he was leaving the establishment, Foster asked the employee if he wanted to fight while holding and pointing a knife at the employee,” Alessandrini said.

Officers located Foster walking near Target a short time later and he was arrested, he said.

Foster posted bond and was released from custody, police said.

On Tuesday, charges of aggravated assault, retail theft and theft of services were filed against Foster. He entered a plea of not guilty to the charges, court records show.

A judge ordered Foster to have no contact with a man or with Bulldog Ale House as a condition of his bond.
