Plainfield man arrested on child pornography charge

A Plainfield man was arrested on a charge of child pornography possession.

On Wednesday, the Illinois State Police executed a search warrant in the 13100 block of Sunderlin Road in Plainfield, according to Trooper Genelle Jones.

Based on information and evidence that was gathered in an investigation, Adam Budig, 22, who lives at that address, was arrested on a charge of child pornography possession, Jones said.

Shortly after 1 p.m. the same day, Budig was taken to the Will County jail.

He is being held at the jail as of Thursday afternoon on a $25,000 bond, according to jail records. He will need to post $2,500 for his release from custody.

On Aug. 4, 2017, Budig pleaded guilty to possession of LSD, which had a street value of $400, according to court records.

He was sentenced to two years of probation and credited for serving one day in jail. He successfully completed his probation on Aug. 2, 2019.

The Illinois State Police have made several other child pornography arrests earlier this year in Will County.

In March, Matthew Ferrari, 52, of Romeoville, and David Marvin, 55, of Joliet, were arrested by state police on child pornography charges over the course of two days, police said.

In February, Alex Abreu, 33, of Joliet, and Deon Wallace, 21, were arrested by state police on child pornography charges.

State police said an internet protocol address registered to Wallace's residence was associated with a Snapchat account that was uploading images identified as child pornography.
