As Streator's COVID-19 cases increased to nearly double where they were this time last week, City Manager David Plyman said the city will keep following Gov. JB Pritzker’s and the La Salle and Livingston County Health department’s guidelines.

Anderson Fields Golf Course was closed to non-members last week after a part-time city employee tested positive for the virus.

Plyman said other city employees have since been tested, with no positive cases and one inconclusive case, which came from an employee who wouldn’t have had contact with the person who tested positive.

The La Salle County Health Department announced Monday that Streator has an additional seven cases, bringing its total to 62 among residents since the beginning of the pandemic. Streator had just 34 cases this time last week.
