The Illinois State Police District 8 on Saturday afternoon released information on a fatal accident which took the lives of three young adults in the early-morning hours of Saturday.

Vehicle driver Morgan Ryder, a 20-year-old from Gridley, and two passengers in her vehicle — 19-year-old Jared Seggerman, of Minonk, and 19-year-old Seth Unruh, of Pattonsburg — were killed in the accident, which occurred at the intersection of Illinois Route 116 and County Road 2400 East in Woodford County shortly before 2 a.m.

Blake Hert, of Minonk, was also in Ryder's vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital with what the Illinois State Police described as "serious injuries."

Per the preliminary investigation, Ryder's vehicle was traveling southbound on 2400 East Road. The other vehicle — an ambulance driven by Joe Delgado, of La Salle — was traveling westbound on Route 116 when the car "drove into the path of" the ambulance. The ambulance "struck Unit 1 on the driver's side," per the Illinois State Police's preliminary investigation.

The roadway was closed for roughly six hours.
