Downtown Oswego church serves up free spaghetti dinners to go

Event staged in Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist parking lot

OSWEGO - Better late than never. That described a drive-thru spaghetti dinner giveaway Saturday, July 18, at Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist in Oswego.

A dozen members of the church's United Methodist Men group, aided by church women and youth, gave away about 75 dinners prepared in the church's kitchen.

Staged in the church parking lot in the village's downtown, the event replaced an annual March dinner that was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Craig McGregor, UMM president, organized the dinner.

Admission was free. Church members and friends were invited. Donations were accepted.

In addition to spaghetti with sauce, dinners included boxes of salad, dinner rolls and chocolate-cake slices.
