Police guard Walgreens in Aurora Sunday during night of protests

AURORA – Aurora police stand guard at the Walgreens at South Kirk Road and Indian Trail on Sunday night after hundreds of people gathered to protest police brutality and the killing of Minneapolis man George Floyd.

The police did not give any additional information about what happened at the Walgreens, other than to say "an incident occured."

The Aurora Police Department sent out an alert around 5 p.m. asking downtown businesses to close immediately because of "multiple protests."

Several retailers closed their stores early Sunday night as a precaution after the protests.
