NIU grad Jordan Steckler signs with Saints

Jordan Steckler signed with the New Orleans Saints as a free agent after the NFL Draft on Saturday night, according to NIU's football Twitter account.

The former Huskie started every game for the Huskies this year, playing on almost every snap. He was a semifinalist for the William F. Campbell Trophy and finished with a 3.62 GPA.

He was selected as the team's offensive lineman of the year for a team that averaged 5.2 yards per play and featured 1,000-yard back Tre Harbison.

Steckler also started most of the 2017 and 2018 seasons for the Huskies as well.
