Guardian Angel Community Services’ Groundwork Program: What services are available for victims of domestic violence in the Grundy County community?

MORRIS — Guardian Angel Community Services' domestic violence program, Groundwork, continues to provide essential services to victims and their families. We are urging anyone in Grundy County who is experiencing domestic violence to call our 24-hour hotline at (815) 729-1228 when it is safe to do so. Our staff are available to help with securing emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy and support services.

The Grundy County Courthouse is open for the filing of emergency orders of protection. In order to promote social distancing and to minimize the time community members are spending at the courthouse, we are encouraging victims to first contact our Grundy County Services Coordinator, Sarah DeNardo by phone or email.

Sarah is available to answer questions regarding orders of protection and to assist with completing petitions over the phone. Victims can call our 24-hour hotline at (815) 729-1228 to be connected to Sarah or may reach her via email at: sdenardo@gacsprograms.org.

The Grundy County Courthouse Clerk's office is also available to offer assistance. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911 for police assistance. We want all Grundy County residents to be safe. We understand that social distancing and “stay at home orders” can make this an even more challenging time to seek help, but we are here for you!
