Oswego Walgreens store re-opens after temporary closure

Walgreens issued a statement Saturday, March 28, detailing the reason for the temporary closure of its store at 410 Chicago Road (Route 34) at Route 71, in Oswego.

"We are committed to providing a safe environment for our customers and team members," the statement read. "We were notified that a team member who works in our Oswego location is being evaluated for COVID-19."

The individual has not been in a store since Saturday, March 21. No information was provided on the status of the employee.

"In accordance with our established protocols, CDC (Center for Disease Control) guidance and out of an abundance of caution, the store was temporarily closed for cleaning in order to disinfect the premises and has since reopened. We have contacted impacted individuals who may be at risk, and they are self-quarantined."

The store reopened Friday, March 27. It will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Sunday, March 29, and will resume operational hours of 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, March 30.

Multiple calls for comment to Kendall County Health Department Operations Administrator RaeAnn Van Gundy were not returned in time for publication.
