Super Bowl traffic safety campaign results released

WAUKEGAN – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people for driving under the influence of alcohol during the recent Super Bowl Traffic Safety Campaign.

Additionally, sheriff’s deputies issued 18 seat belt citations, 29 speeding citations and 30 other traffic citations, and they arrested eight for driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license.

The Super Bowl weekend “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” enforcement effort ran from Jan. 31 through Feb. 3.

The recent law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
