Plano's 7th annual ice fishing event pushed back to Feb. 15

Plano Mayor Bob Hausler has confirmed the 7th annual Plano Molding/Frabill Ice Fishing event at Foli Park in the city has been pushed back another week due to predicted warm temperatures.

The gathering was originally planned for Saturday, Feb. 1, but, due to unseasonably warm temperatures, was first delayed until Saturday, Feb. 8.

Hausler said Thursday, Feb. 6, the event would be pushed back yet another week.

"We're not going to take a chance on safety," he said. "Hopefully it will get colder."

Hausler started the ice fishing event six years ago, after Frabill, a worldwide fishing supply company, moved its headquarters to Plano as part of Plano Molding.

Hausler set up a sponsorship with Plano Molding and Frabill for the event, with the companies contributing prizes for raffles and giveaways.
