Vanessa Kay Kite, 31, of Chicago, formerly of Ottawa, passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2019.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday December 6 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles with memorial services to follow at 6 p.m.

Vanessa was born May 13, 1988 in Ottawa, to James Adams and Barbara Kite.

Vanessa loved horses and enjoyed horseback riding. She was a talented artist who loved to draw. Vanessa was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest.

Vanessa is survived by her mother, Barbara (Joe) Higgins of Ottawa; her father, James Adams of Ottawa; one son, Isaiah; her siblings, Jamie (Rodney) Pen, Kevin Higgins, and Michael Higgins; two nieces, Katie and Emily; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her brother, Jason Higgins; and cousins, Traci Lewis and James Roe.
