North Aurora man in custody again for vehicle burglary

Misael Bautista, 20, charged with 3 felonies

NORTH AURORA – A North Aurora man has been arrested again for vehicle burglary after residents caught him checking door handles Sunday morning.

According to a news release from the North Aurora Police Department, Misael Bautista, 20, of the 500 block of Cherrywood Drive, has been charged with three counts of burglary, all Class 3 felonies.

The news release states that the incident started around 9 a.m. Sunday when residents saw him checking car door handles in the 500 block of Birchwood Drive and called 911.

Responding officers located him a short distance away near Sycamore Lane and Cherrywood Drive and after an on-scene investigation, he was taken into custody without incident, the release stated.

Bautista is charged with unlawfully entering vehicles in the 500 and 600 blocks of Cherrywood Drive, as well as the 600 block of Birchwood Drive, and taking clothing, change, cash, pepper spray, hand sanitizer and lottery tickets.

Bautista also had two small lighters and a brown sunglasses case in his possession, which may have been taken from other victim(s). Anyone who may have Bautista on surveillance video or who may have been a victim of trespassing or burglary should call police at 630- 897-8705. Videos or video links may be emailed to Tips@NorthAurora.org. Bautista was wearing a zip up hoodie, white t-shirt and red sweatpants at the time of his arrest.

Bautista was previously arrested and charged for vehicle burglary on Sept. 18 in the 500 block of East Victoria Circle in North Aurora.
