OREGON – A car wash and nearby storage unit will continue to be family operated, but by another family.

Siblings Rebecca Hazzard, Jared Martin and Ella Martin recently purchased the former Nancy's Sparkle Wash at 1069 W. Pines Road from Dan and Nancy Roos, who had owned it since 2000.

The transaction comes with a new name – Hawk Auto Wash and Storage.

The siblings plan to update the equipment to improve the car wash's quality and efficiency.

"We appreciate the community’s patience as we do updates to the property and upgrades to the wash equipment," Hazzard said. "We anticipate having all equipment, including the can crusher, back to working order over within the next several weeks."

The car wash consists of three manual bays, an automatic wash, three vacuums, and a can crusher. A pet wash station also is on site, supplied by All Paws Pet Wash of Belvidere.

The storage business features 60 units in various sizes.

Hazzard is a Realtor with Re/Max of Rock Valley in Oregon. Jared Martin is an equipment and maintenance supervisor for Martin and Company in Oregon. Ella Martin is a junior at Oregon High School.

They're also working on a website, hawkautowashandstorage.com, where storage unit rentals and payments can be made, Buzzard said.
