WAUCONDA – Wauconda Grade School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the school.
Teachers and support staff from Wauconda volunteered behind the counter and at the drive-thru Sept. 4 at the Wauconda McDonald’s located on Liberty Street, where they served students and their families in a fundraising event.
Teachers Susana Ayala, Anayeli Mendoza and Lizz Buisson worked hard selling cookies. Many Wauconda teachers worked behind the counter while teachers Nancy Herrera, Morgan Allgeyer and Jessica Marion worked the drive-thru.
Principal Debbie Monroe was at the event the entire night, talking with families and taking lots of pictures with the kids.
The proceeds from the cookies sold went directly to benefit the Wauconda Grade School children.
A percentage of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales also were donated to the school, which plans to use the money raised for Science night, STEM night and Literacy night.
The Wauconda McTeacher’s Night was courtesy of Plesiotis Family McDonald’s and McDonald’s owner-operator Nondas Plesiotis.
