Police: Naperville teen tried to solicit sex from juvenile on Instagram

An 18-year-old man was arrested after he sent a girl Instagram messages suggesting he could pay her money for sexual acts, police said.

About 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Armin Khorasani, of the 3800 block of Petra Court in Naperville, was arrested and charged with grooming and traveling to meet a minor.

In May, Khorasani sent messages on Instagram to the girl, Naperville police Cmdr. Mike Son said in an email.

“The context of those messages suggested paying her money for sexual acts,” Son said.

The girl did not know Khorasani and notified her parents about the incident, Son said.

Son said the arrest of Khorasani was delayed because the girl originally reported the incident to school officials.

Son said he could not release more information on Khorasani’s arrest because the case remains under investigation.

Khorasani faces two counts of grooming, which police said took place May 28, and one count of traveling to meet a minor, which police said occurred Tuesday, according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.

Khorasani’s bond was set at $70,000. He posted $7,000 and was released Thursday morning.

Khorasani was named a state scholar for outstanding academic achievement by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, according to commission's website.

Khorasani is listed as a student at Neuqua Valley High School.
