Tim Curtin, 61 formerly of Ottawa, passed way June 11 in Perry, GA.
Tim was born on Dec. 26, 1957 in Ottawa to Michael and Jackie (Woods) Curtin.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private memorial services will be at a later date.
Tim is survived by a son, Patrick Curtin of Massachusetts; daughter Amy Curtin of Kentucky; his mother Jackie Curtin; a brother Michael (Diane) Curtin of Ottawa; 2 sisters, Lori (Mick) Carey of Utica, Deb (John) Ewan, of Arizona; his fiance Dora Portwood of Georgia; 4 nieces, Cristen Brack, Carley Carey, Leigha Curtin, Alison Sexton; 1 nephew Colt Brack; 4 grandchidren, Hope, Peyton, Lane and Jayden; and several aunts and cousins, and his beloved dog, Heidi.
He was preceded in death by his father Michael W. Curtin on May 28, 2004; his maternal grandparents, Dick and Dretha Woods; paternal grandparents Michael T. and Mathilda Curtin.
Tim was a harness horse driver and trainer for over 40 years thoughout the United States. Tim drove 3,245 horses to victory during his career. His best season was in 1997 when he drove 219 horses to victory. Tim was currently tied for second in the driver standings at Hawthorne Race Track with 23 wins this season. Tim's son Pat has driven and trained in the United States for many years as well.
